Anxiety Management Smart Jewellery

post-image

These are my final pieces cast in sterling silver. I am yet to piece them together but I hope to do that soon. The bangle will consist of fidget beads for distraction and a mood tracking bead (Using the same technology as mood rings) for early warning signs of anxiety and stress. The pendant will consist of a cooling system for users to apply to pressure points when panicked (Scientifically proven to calm during panic attacks). Finally the ring is a sensory grounding device made to ground wearer during anxiety.

What do you think?

An important project Catlin. A great challenge. Have you done much research into haptic design? Would also recommend you do a quick search in https://ideaspies.com/. They have a great collection of ideas and inspiration that would help see what is already out there and how is working in this field.

This is a great idea, you could incorporate soothing light and sound from nature played when opening the box

Beautiful packaging, makes the jewellery safe but also well presented when deciding which to wear.

Like opening a Pandora's Box. One would need to be careful when deciding on the packaging, as one would want to be elegant but not expensive, depending on the value of the jewellery

Great concepts! Love the features you have already explored. May I suggest investigating some skin-safe or non-toxic materials that could be used to expand use cases of the project - e.g. Different demographics or age groups? Wonderful ideas :)

Hi there Caitlin, congratulations you are nearly there, hope all is going well.

We are sending out a little request - if you could update the image on your Post to show a little collage of your projects development that would be fantastic. We will be awarding the top three UpRising design projects for 2024 and the UpRising alliance and community love to see the journey of your design.

There is a little feedback survey, if you could fill it in that would fantastic as it really helps us to understand how we can better help next years design students.

It also has an option for you to select if you would like to continue to be involved in UpRising next year and beyond. Lots of interesting ways to continue to build connections within the design industry. Great for your resume and career paths.

Wishing you all the best with your trials and finishing touches on your MDP.

Shout out if we can help in any way.
