Mycelium single use lid
My project is for a biodegradable single use lid made from mycelium. Current single use lids, even paper lids contain plastic that is harmful to the environment since it will never break down. Additionally most plastic lids are never recycled since they are so small and often contain food contaminants.

Cultural transmission and red envelope revitalisation
As a Chinese-Australian second-generation immigrant I have often faced difficulties connecting and familiarising myself with my heritage and family.My project aims to solve this through a functional redesign of the red envelope - an Asian cultural staple - combatting its associated disposability to encourage cultural transmission across generations.This will be accomplished through striking contemporary design (visual and functional) that can appeal to both traditional and modern, young audiences.I'm seeking the help of graphics and communications design professionals and physical packaging designers for my project.

Indigenous Baby Bundle
My MDP idea is to customize the NSW Baby Bundle, a bag with a collection of items and information designed to support new mothers and their newborns. This is distributed to all mothers that give birth in NSW hospitals. I intend to create a version that will be designed for remote Indigenous mothers, with a goal to bring a cultural connection to their birthing experience. I would appreciate any specific advice from the healthcare system, on how to integrate my project and any guidelines that I should be aware of. Any general advice would also be appreciated!

'Protection Meets Style'
Four days, five unrelated Sydney stabbing attacks. Seven people dead. Five of the seven dead, Women.Australia is experiencing a surge in domestic violence, with knives and weapons increasingly used against women, including the recent Bondi stabbing. This concerning trend highlights the urgent need for effective personal-safety solutions, both in public and at home. April 2024, the Prime Minister declared a ‘national-crisis’ of violence against women, with ONE woman killed every FOUR days to domestic violence. My MDP aims to develop a range of stab-resistant protective clothing to combat this issue, combining discretion, comfort and style, potentially offering life-saving protection.

WTC JEWELLERY
The jewellery that you wear in your day to day life requires mining to retrieve the metals needed to produce your rings ,earrings and bracelets. The damage jewellery making creates is more than contamination; it goes on further leading to deforestation, water pollution, and loss of biodiversity, not to mention the significant carbon footprint from energy-intensive processes. My goal with WTC JEWELLERY is to show you how I create jewellery that's better for the environment and prove why it's better for the environment through Kombucha scoby, Orange peel, Seaweed and Milk Kefir. This change is the start for bigger changes.
