Postpartum Pajamas

Did you know that for the first 4 months after giving birth, on average mothers get 3 and 1/2 hours of sleep each night? Postpartum women experience a range of changes to their body and lives that makes getting a good night of sleep nearly impossible. My goal is to design a set of sustainable pajamas that cater to the needs of postpartum women, ensuring that they can get quality sleep whenever possible. I’m looking for supporters who work in the textiles industry.

A great combination of social awareness and materials investigation. There are some great materials in the Materials Library in here https://www.uprisingdesigners.org/shop, amazing range of circle materials some even regenerative. Contact the Australian Circle Economy Hub https://portal.acehub.org.au/ and drop their community a message, lot's of great minds doing fantastic things to shift the textiles industry forward as well. The great thing about buying materials from circle supply chains is that you help close the loop. Support them supports you.

Dollhouse to Support Young Autistic Children

The purpose of my dollhouse design is to help meet the needs of children with ASD, and incorporate that into one space that encourages mental and tactile stimulation and growth. The goal is to make this a product that helps a child learn, grow, and emotionally regulate. I plan to meet these needs by building a dollhouse that encourages an ergonomic relationship. My product consists of various rooms filled with items that the children can engage with. Underneath, there will be a considerable amount of space for the storage of all smaller items, this makes transportation and tidiness much easier.
