SKIN SAFE, PLANET HAPPY

I am designing refillable sunscreen bottles that can be refilled at chemists and dispensers located in areas with high foot traffic and busy suburban locations.

What do you think?

Hi Alice,

This is a great concept. Recyclable products are becoming much more popular with increased environmental trends, and I strongly believe this idea would be supported by many others.

There are multiple points that I believe you should consider while developing this concept. Firstly, would this concept of a sunscreen dispenser be a self sufficient process? If so, how would the payment for the refill be made? Perhaps, a digital card reader could be used - like a drinks dispenser or a car wash. Another point to consider is the mess that sunscreen can make. This could potentially be monitored by some sort of drainage system or bucket/sink system. I anticipate that the sunscreen would dispense post payment, so that people cannot take advantage of the products for free.

Overall, this is a great concept and I would be interested to hear how you are progressing.

Kind Regards,

Hi Alice,

I really support this idea. Skin cancer is preventable with sun safety and yet it is widespread, especially here in Queensland where we have some of the highest rates globally. Making sunscreen readily accessible in populated areas would be extremely beneficial.

My first suggestion would be to have the containers and dispensers manufactured from recycled material. The fact that they can be refilled is fantastic and this would only make them more sustainable.

Also, for hygiene purposes, I assume that the dispensers would be motion-activated, similar to hand sanitiser dispensers around shopping centres, etc?

This is an amazing concept, and I would love to see this installed around cities!

Cheers,

Hi Alice

Great to see such creative thinking in relation to an issue that is relevant for many Australians. Best of luck with the project!
