This
beach safety station helps tourists understand basic water safety and first-aid
on Australian beaches. The water safety component includes pictures and
information on ocean conditions and a QR code to access this information in
different languages. The first-aid component includes an insulated box with
first-aid equipment and instructions to assist basic stings and injuries,
taking pressure off lifeguards on busy beaches, and helping people on
unpatrolled beaches.
I
would appreciate advice on future developments of the concept and construction.
I would also appreciate supporting opinions
on the benefit of the design and for the product evaluation in the
folio.
This project aims to tackle housing challenges for Australians aged 18 to 30 by developing affordable, community-centered tiny homes. Designed to reduce stress from the housing crisis, these homes will use sustainable materials, renewable energy, and waste reduction strategies. Shared spaces will foster social connections, financial relief, and mental well-being. The goal is to create high-quality, eco-friendly living environments that meet the needs of young adults. By promoting affordability and sustainability, this project provides an innovative solution tailored to the generation’s preferences, ensuring a supportive and inclusive community while addressing long-term housing and environmental concerns.
Surfing makes up 26% of head injuries as a percent of sports injuries in Australia and 72.7% of my target market believe wearing a helmet surfing has been stigmatised.Additionally, everyday around 8 million pieces of plastic make their way into our oceans. These and many other shocking statistics has inspired me to design a helmet manufactured from recycled plastics and design it's appearance based off what my target market deems 'cool' so that they feel safe and confident wearing a helmet surfing.I am seeking advice from anyone who has experience in molding helmets or putting the components of a helmet together.
The average guitarist wastes an estimated $50 per year due to losing guitar picks, a figure that doesn’t even include losing important guitar accessories such as capos or slides. Additionally, guitar players who travel for performances require a universal storage solution that can hold everything they need, eliminating the stress of losing equipment on the road. This project aims to enhance the on-the-road gig experience by designing a practical, portable organiser to keep essentials secure and easily accessible, with the option for a long-term wall hanging design in the studio or to convert into a pocketed satchel!
High input costs place significant financial pressure on farmers. Improving wool farmers' economic efficiency—maximizing returns relative to the cost of establishing, running, and maintaining the system—is essential. Shearify is an innovative solution that enhances productivity to reduce shearing costs. Further, Shearify aims to integrate with WoolClip to enhance traceability and provide feedback to the farmer.
Across the world, geothermal heating and cooling systems are used in many homes. The idea emerged from recognising the underrated potential of geothermal technologies in Australia. My point of difference is producing this idea into communities of residential homes. Geothermal energy gathers the earth's natural heat from the ground , offering an eco-friendly alternative solution for maintaining comfortable inside home temperatures while also relieving the strain on electricity infrastructure.
