I am to create a portable, biophilic, modular performance space designed to unfold like a blooming flower that focuses on renewal and sustainability,
aiming to revitalise and foster connection, engagement, and entertainment in
rural Australian communities. In light of the challenges these regions have
faced, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the widening digital
divide caused by rapid technological advancements, the theatre serves as
a beacon of cultural and social revitalisation.
I am
seeking guidance on modular construction strategies, sustainable and durable
materials for large-scale productions, and recommendations for modelling
programs to bring this vision to life
Tactus—Latin for "touch"—is a clothing line designed to empower vision-impaired individuals through touch, texture, and intuitive design. Choosing an outfit is simple when you can see, but for 285 million vision-impaired people worldwide, it’s a challenge tied to independence. Fashion brands often prioritise visual appeal, overlooking the needs of Vision-impaired individuals. Some brands include Braille, but that’s not enough—identifying armholes, buttons, or the front of a shirt remains difficult. Tactus makes dressing effortless and stylish, proving fashion can be both accessible and empowering. What do you think of my project? Are there any features or improvements you’d suggest?
My project is for a biodegradable single use lid made from mycelium. Current single use lids, even paper lids contain plastic that is harmful to the environment since it will never break down. Additionally most plastic lids are never recycled since they are so small and often contain food contaminants. I am using sawdust to grow the mycelium on then I will be putting that into moulds where it will take the final shape of the lid.
As a Chinese-Australian second-generation immigrant I have often faced difficulties connecting and familiarising myself with my heritage and family. My project aims to solve this through a functional redesign of the red envelope - an Asian cultural staple - combatting its associated disposability to encourage cultural transmission across generations. This will be accomplished through striking contemporary design (visual and functional) that can appeal to both traditional and modern, young audiences.I'm seeking the help of graphics and communications design professionals and physical packaging designers for my project.
As a songwriter, I experience how repeated exposure to musical phrases causes the brain to filter out sound, reducing engagement and emotional impact—hindering productivity. My project is an app that addresses onset and recovery, helping music creators stay engaged and produce better music with fewer interruptions. The app combats auditory satiation by:1. Early Detection: An algorithm detects repetition patterns and provides real-time warnings.2. Accelerated Recovery: Using EMDR therapy, the app resets cognitive processing, restoring engagement without long breaks, improving workflow efficiency.I’m seeking to connect with supporters working in or studying psychology, and musicians for my survey: https://forms.gle/jEuwiabUSgJskbVS7
My MDP idea is to customize the NSW Baby Bundle, a bag with a collection of items and information designed to support new mothers and their newborns. This is distributed to all mothers that give birth in NSW hospitals. I intend to create a version that will be designed for remote Indigenous mothers, with a goal to bring a cultural connection to their birthing experience. I would appreciate any specific advice from the healthcare system, on how to integrate my project and any guidelines that I should be aware of. Any general advice would also be appreciated!
